There is a cool sarcophagus and many Asain artifacts and big rooms with modern paintings and some recognizable Van gough. It’s an old fashioned type museum with big marble stairways and such, which I think is fun to show my kids. Unless your kids are really into art and artifacts, this museum might not be the best as a long destination. That said, walking around looking at cool stuff and then getting a cookie at the cafe is fun for my six year old. It’s free so I don’t mind if we are there for an hour or so. Combining this with Children’s theater ( in the same building) or midtown global market a few blocks away is a fun idea. This place has several food vendors and international shops selling handmade items and trinkets.

I just bought a metal goat attached to a wooden base. On the bottom of it a label says that it was an authentic replica of an original from your institute. Can you tell me anything about the original piece? I bought it at an antique mall in Kent, Ohio. I payed $12.50 for it. I love goat related items as I raised goats for many years.

It can be a LONG trip by bus coming from Woodbury. I would hit downtown via an express bus M-F (much faster). Once you get to downtown Minneapolis, get something to eat (waste time until museum opens) Keys, Haute Dish, Hell's Kitchen to name a few places. From downtown you can catch the 11 from 7th & Hennepin to 3rd & 24th. From there it is a short walk to the museum. Definitely get google maps. You can catch an express bus from downtown to Woodbury in the afternoon, but they don't start running again until 3:30pm. There is a lot to do to waste time in Minneapolis. If you are done with the muesum before 3:30, you can head back downtown and cross the river to Main Street and eat and maybe rent a nice ride and bike around. There are ton of bike paths, bike boulevards, etc. You can bike or walk across Stonearch Bridge and check out the Mill City Museum (minneapolis was built on its milling. This muesum tells you of our states great history and there was an explosion in the building and the remaining part of thr building houses the museum). If you didn't get your fill of art, head over to the Walker and Sculpture Garden (short bus ride) you can walk through Loring Park and cross the bridge over busy road to the Sculpture Garden. Have fun! I hope this helps. Google maps provides bus routes. It will help you navigate the city.
