The water and beach are beautiful with an amazing sunset. There was a nice “chill” family friendly atmosphere and it wasn’t too crowded.Full review by Max F

Staying in the South, we picked this beach out of the 300 beaches in Puerto Rico because of the calm water. Apparently the current in December can be strong. We lucked out it was peaceful. Not that c…Full review by Li T

It's my first time in Puerto Rico, so I want to know if this is a good place to spend my first visit or I should stay in San Juan? Is it safe to take taxi to the hotel or I should book a hotel pick up? and how much would it cost? also is it possible to go to the biodiversity luminescent beach from this hotel? how far?

Hi. The answers to your questions depend on what you want to do during your visit. If you at looking for R&R and a small town feel then Combate is a good choice. The area is very safe but it's not a taxi area that I know of. You may want to ask the people in the hotel. Combate is 3 1/2 hours drive from San Juan. Getting to Combate from San Juan is something you might want to also ask the people at your hotel. It has great beaches, good food and very friendly locals. If you want pretty beaches and not super touristy Combate is a beautiful area. The car ride to the biodiversity luminescent bay is about 45 minutes I bet there are excursions available for that. At night Combate has one or two restaurants with karaoke or a small live band, one great place to eat and hang is Annie's Place. A few minutes by car you can also go at night to the "poblado" of Boquerón which has a diverse nightlife. If you stay in the San Juan area the beaches are nice but not as nice as the west area, and more crowded. But you can Zipline at the Rainforest, great restaurants and night life. I hope you have an amazing time and come back to visit us.
