Melissa and Blair were friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to interact with during our ride. The horses were kind, well cared for and had super cute personalities. Highly recommend! Full review by Emily B
My husband is 77 years old and not especially athletic. Now he mainly swims for exercise. In his 60's he enjoyed horseback riding on the beach and I'm wondering if this experience would be safe and enjoyable for him (and the horse!). He would need a stool or platform in order to mount and dismount and weighs about 230 lb. It sounds like such a great way to view Palo Duro Canyon!

Howdy Ellie, yes I would say that this ride would be safe and enjoyable for your husband. This is the 3rd summer in a row that our family has done a trail ride and these were the easiest horses to manage by far. The girls provide a step stool to mount and dismount the horse. You would climb the stool, put your left foot into the stirrup and then swing your right leg over the horse. They can adjust the stirrups as needed. I believe I saw a 250lbs weight limit on the website, but please check to confirm. I'm about 215lbs (even though I tell everyone I'm about 200lbs) and both me and the horse had no issues. There were 7 people in our party and none of the horses acted up in any way. We did the 2-hour ride starting at 9:30am and it seemed like the perfect length of time. We didn't take or need water even though it was in the mid-90's. The views from the rim were incredible and the girls were great! I think you and your husband would enjoy this ride very much. I hope this helped.
We will have two of our grandchildren visiting us here in the Panhandle (ages 7 & 10), from AZ in Mid-May; would this be age appropriate entertainment? What should we be prepared to pay for: 1st Time Horse back? Chuck Wagon ride? Thanks y'all!
