This is the one thing you have to see in Acapulco. Recommend you have drinks in the Mirador restaurant /hotel while watching the show around sunset. The divers come up after the show looking for tips…Full review by Jon L

Our captain did a great job taking us to see the different spots and then out to see the whales. There was a lot of activity and he had us in the right locations to see a lot of whalesFull review by bjn65

It is amazing to see how this old tradition is still kept going! I have been here a couple of times and it’s still a great experience to watch the diverse!Full review by anadene

I guess your ship will arrive to the port, which is in the old part of Acapulco... If you are planning for a nice restaurant, here are some of my suggestions: Hotel Boca chica which is located pretty close from the port area and right in front "The Roqueta" island. It is a hipster and nice hotel which I believe you will enjoy. I can also reccommend other restaurants (Shu -japanese or Kookaburra , Harry's - grill ...But all these places are located in La Isla Mall ... That's why I truly reccommend Boca chica as I. Believe you are looking for something nice, local, tropical and that won't take too long to get there.... Hope this Info is useful!!!

Hi Luckyman5 - I just googled Hotel Mirador which is adjacent to La Quebrada and is a common place to watch the cliff divers from. On my first trip to Acapulco, my late husband and I ate dinner there and simultaneously watched the cliff divers. If you just want to see the shows the telephone number of the hotel is 011-521-744-483-1260. Good luck and enjoy your trip to Acapulco. I would recommend that if this will be the first trip to Acapulco, go to the concierge at your hotel and a complete city tour can be arranged. WE did not do this and it took us many years to see everything they would have shown us.
Is there a charge to see the divers and if so how much is it? We will be in Acapulco for the day on a cruise but do not want to pre book a tour as we like to explore on our own. Thank you. Esperanza

You can see the divers for free from different locations at the top or from a distance. There is a nominal charge to go down the steps and see them up close (worth it!) or you can view them comfortably at the La Perla restaurant. I had dinner at sunset in a front row seat and it was awesome! If you don't want to eat, you can just have a drink. Plus, when you go to the restaurant, you can go down the steps for free. I would not book a tour! Grab a cab and spend however much time you want or can there. You can talk with, take pics with, and, when I was there, buy a T-shirt from the divers to help support them. The cab fare was more than reasonable and the driver actually gave me a "mini-tour" on the way and waited around to give me a ride back. Definitely go see it and I hope this helps.
