Very crowded in the water, but we saw lots of manatees. The heated houseboat is the only way to go when it's cool outside! Nice service! Full review by Christi S

Hi, we are a family of 3 and looking to do a manatee tour in June 2017. Though this is not classed as peak season is it still possible to see manatee at this time? Also, would you advise which of the booking times would be more advantageous for an opportunity to see the manatee.

Thank you for writing and we would love to have you! Yes, June is a tough time to find manatee in the area, but we almost always see at least a few. As long as you have realistic expectations you will have a wonderful time! Your best chance to see animals is going to be first thing after sunrise and it also helps in avoiding the crowds. Later in the morning and afternoon, it's tougher to find manatee, they are often times sleeping and the waterways get pretty crowded. Let us know if you have any other questions!

The biggest factor on actually seeing a Manatee is the temperature of the water. September can be pretty hot in this part of FL and therefore the water stays warm well into October. The Manatee only come to the river fed by springs because the water stays 72 degrees F all year. If the Gulf is warmer than that they prefer the Gulf of Mexico. You would be better off visiting in February or after a cold front cools the water.

Thank you so much for writing and we would love to have you for a tour! Sept is typically pretty good, but it's important to have realistic expectations. We don't have hundreds of animals here in Sept, but we always have a great time! How many we see, how close we get, and under what conditions we view them can change drastically from day to day, but September it can go either way.
