here's how alot of others I have known tour the Canal. start at lock 1 - closest to lake ontario. From there you can drive up the Canal Road all the way up to Thorold o Ontario - making stops along the way. the museum is a good stop. lots to see - it's quite an experience to see the steel cargo ships manouvering. station 93.3 tells you which lock or bridge is up - plan for the Day!!!!! it's a journey. there is also an amazing Bike walking pathway along side the Canal as well. hope this helps. you can see the ship schedule for the day once you reach there. it is an interesting place to see and spend time. kids will enjoy
