Cleveland appeared poised to snap their skid when Steven Kwan’s RBI double in the eighth broke a scoreless tie. The rally began with Austin Hedges’ single that snapped an 0-for-10 slump, followed by a walk to Brayan Rocchio. Kwan, aiming for his third hit of the afternoon, then drove in pinch runner Daniel Schneemann with a double into the corner.

Following a 10-game losing streak, the Cleveland Guardians won three straight games against one of MLB's best teams, the Houston Astros.

The Astros, who returned home after sweeping the Dodgers, have lost two two in a row to the Guardians, who came to Houston on a 10-game losing streak.

Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Tigers in 10 innings extended the Guardians' losing streak to 10 games, the first time since 2012 they've had a double-digit skid. It is the 11th time in franchise history they have lost 10 straight in a single season. The team record is 12, set in 1931.

Perhaps in an attempt to lighten the mood Friday during Cleveland's 2-1 loss to Detroit, Guardians TV cameras captured associate manager Craig Albernaz tossing sunflower seeds onto his buddy, manager Stephen Vogt. In that moment at least, Vogt wasn't having it.

The Guardians were one strike away from a huge win against Tarik Skubal and the Tigers. Then it fell apart in stunning fashion.
