Windows 11 is getting yet another feature that brings your phone and PC closer. The idea is called “Hand off” and is related to the “ Continue from Phone” feature we previously spotted. In theory, the feature would not be strictly limited to Android because it works around OneDrive integration.

Windows App, first unveiled in November 2023, provides access to several Microsoft tools used to remotely connect to Windows PC. This means users can sign in to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, and Microsoft Dev Box — all from one place.

According to Microsoft, those who are using Remote Desktop clients for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and the web will transition to Windows App. It has some "get started" documentation for IT admins, though some in the comments of Microsoft's blog post say they're having trouble figuring out how to set up resources.

Microsoft is replacing the old RDC client app with a new Windows app and the new and improved features can work in a domain-based or home environment.

Microsoft announced in a blog post that Windows App has finally been released to the general public and is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and web browsers. In a nutshell, Windows App is a “unified experience” that lets you securely connect to a Windows device from any other supported device.
