The Tigers are on the rise in some March Madness projections.
KeShawn Murphy totaled 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Elyjah Freeman tipped in a miss with 1.4 seconds left as Auburn ended a five-game losing streak by handing Kentucky a third straight loss, winning 75-74.
Kentucky couldn’t replicate the LSU magic this time around. On Saturday night inside Neville Arena, the Wildcats suffered a gut-wrenching 75-74 defeat against the Auburn Tigers, marking UK’s first three-game losing streak of the Mark Pope era.
Kentucky ended the first half on a 7-0 run and then began the second half on a 7-2 run, as Auburn was stuck in a slump offensively. The Tigers eventually snapped out of it, responding with a 7-0 run and keeping up with the Wildcats for the rest of the half.
