Elon Musk has said Nigel Farage “doesn’t have what it takes” to lead Reform UK, just weeks after the pair had a “great” meeting in the US. The tech billionaire’s about turn appeared to be linked to a disagreement over Tommy Robinson.

It is an abrupt withdrawal of support by the U.S. billionaire for the Brexit campaigner who is trying to shake up the British political establishment again.

Mr Musk followed up just over an hour later by appearing to suggest that Mr Farage should be replaced by Rupert Lowe, a fellow Reform MP. Mr Musk responded to another user’s post asking him whether he thought the former Southampton FC chairman should take over.
