Bill Simmons joins Charles Barkley in questioning Jason Kidd’s decision to feature Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg as a point guard.
Flagg had a slow start in his NBA debut, going scoreless in the first half after missing his first two shots. He would score his first career points with 11:42 left in the third quarter. The rookie struggled to find his stride in the second half but did put together a double-double performance with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Topps confirmed to cllct that Flagg wore three separate debut patches against the Spurs on Wednesday, and the company plans to use the first patch worn to create the RDPA. The two additional patches have been destroyed.
The NBA’s No. 2 pick and son of former NBA star Ron Harper played in his first professional game. His girlfriend stole the show, though.
Cooper Flagg will make his regular-season debut on Wednesday and a new Gatorade ad voiced by Dirk Nowitzki sets the tone.
Flagg called Wembanyama “incredible” and aims to improve in his next game.
