The Boston Red Sox outfielder is one of seven players who could be an injury replacement on Team USA for Arizona Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll, MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported Wednesday. Carroll will miss the WBC with a broken hamate bone.

Ryan Waldschmidt, the team's top prospect, could enter into the mix with a strong spring. The 31st overall pick in the 2024 draft, he finished last season at Double-A and hit .289/.419/.473 in 134 games during the 2025 campaign.
