Two outbuildings burned in a fire that threatened homes in the north Sacramento area late Thursday afternoon. The Sacramento Fire Department said the fire was burning along Silver Eagle Road, just southwest of Norwood Avenue and Interstate 80.

Alameda County Fire says the blaze has burned approximately 25 to 30 acres with a moderate to dangerous rate of spread, with potential for a couple hundred acres. Authorities have requested to shut down I-580 between the 205 and Patterson Pass Road.
