LOS ANGELES (AP) — Burglars tunneled through a concrete wall to gain access to a Los Angeles jewelry store, making off with at least $10 million worth of watches, pendants, gold chains and other merchandise, police said.

Love Jewels, a Los Angeles jewelry store, was robbed of its merchandise during a heist on Sunday, April 13, after suspects entered the store through a large hole they created from a neighboring vacant building.

Richard Winton, investigative crime writer for The Los Angeles Times, explains that largely on Sunday night, criminals used heavy saws and drills to cut their way through rooms in deserted businesses along a strip of Broadway, making their way to where the jewelry safes were located.
