The Texas Rangers are signing pitcher Jordan Montgomery, a key member of their 2023 World Series championship team, according to multiple reports. The South Carolina native played part of that one season for the Rangers after being acquired in a trade from the St. Louis Cardinals.
In his playoff start against Tampa Bay, Montgomery tossed seven scoreless innings and made an incredible diving play early in the Rangers' series-clinching win. Against the Astros, he made two starts, throwing 14 innings and giving up only a pair of runs.
