While some have only just recently been introduced to Lalisa Manoban, a.k.a. Lalisa Manobal, thanks to her role as Mook in The White Lotus, many know her simply as Lisa, the singer, dancer and rapper who has been shining as part of the K-pop girl group Blackpink since 2016.

For Lisa, a global superstar and one quarter of K-Pop girl group Blackpink, and Tayme Thapthimthong, a British-born Thai actor, joining the cast was a no-brainer. Lisa, whose full name is Lalisa Manoban, plays Mook, a health mentor at the resort, and Thapthimthong plays Gaitok, a security guard at the resort.

The new season of The White Lotus features the acting debut of a K-pop idol with Blackpink's Lisa. Creator and writer Mike White reveals why he was initially hesitant to add the Thai superstar to his cast.
