JENA, La. (KALB) - A federal judge has ordered the release of pro-Palestinian activist and former Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil. It was reported that Khalil cannot be deported or detained for foreign policy reasons that were argued by the Trump Administration.
"This vindicates what Mahmoud has maintained since day one — that the government cannot detain or deport him based on Rubio’s say-so," Ramzi Kassem, a lawyer for Khalil and a law professor at the City University of New York, said in a statement.
