Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala says “nobody is to blame” for the serious left leg injury he sustained last week. The Germany international fractured his fibula as a result of a broken ankle in Bayern’s Club World Cup quarter-final defeat by Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday following a collision with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Following Jamal Musiala's severe injury against PSG in the Club World Cup quarterfinals, the Bavarians have stepped up their interest in a past target. According to The Times, the German champions have identified Chelsea 's wantaway star Christopher Nkunku. He could be the player to step up in Musiala's absence.

In a statement Bayern Munich have confirmed that Musiala suffered a "fractured fibula as a result of an ankle dislocation" and will "undergo surgery shortly" as he flew from the USA back to Munich on Sunday morning.
