General manager Bill Armstrong said his players' performance will decide what Utah Hockey Club does at the trade deadline.

The Utah Hockey Club (27-24-9) carries a three-game win streak into tonight’s affair with the New Jersey Devils (32-22-6) at Delta Center. Utah has also won four straight at home and is now just two points behind the Vancouver Canucks for the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference.

The Utah Hockey Club is playing some great hockey as of late, and don't count them out of the playoff race in the West just yet.

Utah Hockey Club is one example of why. They have no intention of being sellers if they can avoid it. They feel they’re still in the playoff race in the West, trying to chase down the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames for the last playoff spot.

That’s significant because Team USA general manager Bill Guerin is the GM of the Wild. In four games against the Wild this season, Keller now has nine points. He’s on a six-game point streak and has a total of 69 points in 59 games.

The Utah Hockey Club continue to hang around the playoff picture in the Western Conference, and the front office is not looking to sell.

"When we rolled into Utah, we kind of said, 'We want to be in a position down the stretch where we're playing meaningful games," Utah general manager Bill Armstrong said prior to a 5-3 loss at the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. "We're in the build right now, as we call it. We're four years in and we're making a lot of progress."

The 4 Nations Face-Off replaced the NHL All-Star Game and events that usually take place in mid-February. Fewer than 1.4 million people watched the 2024 All-Star Game, by the way. It also acted as a primer for the 2026 Milan Olympics, which open on Feb. 6.

Utah Hockey Club is going to be active at the NHL trade deadline, but Alexander Kerfoot and Ian Cole probably won't be involved in the wheeling and dealing.
