In the midst of the Denver Nuggets ' refreshing victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night, they saw one of their starting pieces, Cam Johnson, get taken out in the middle of the fourth quarter with an injury that would sideline him for the rest of the way.

MINNEAPOLIS — Nuggets forward Cam Johnson dealt with right shoulder soreness and didn’t finish Monday night’s game against Minnesota, but coach David Adelman was not too concerned about long-term ramifications after Denver’s 127-114 win.

The third quarter was all Nuggets, specifically all Murray. He torched the Wolves, and when he wasn’t shooting, Tim Hardaway Jr. was. He added 15 points as Denver scored 45. The Wolves were going under screens on Murray and leaving him to double Jokic at other times. He made them pay.

Nikola Jokic is drawing raves for good reason — three games, three triple-doubles for the three-time MVP. Jokic’s massive shadow should not block out the light for Jamal Murray, who is off to his own fast start and dropped 42 points on Minnesota on Monday, leading the Nuggets to a comfortable 127-114 road win.

This NBA game is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on Peacock. Peacock has plans starting at $7.99 a month and has exclusive NBA games on Mondays and also allows fans to watch games that are broadcast on NBC.
