Gujarat Titans have entrusted former India keeper-batter Parthiv Patel with the dual responsibility of serving as their assistant and batting coach in the upcoming IPL, the franchise said on Wednesday. Parthiv will perform the dual role in the support staff led by head coach Ashish Nehra.

Parthiv Patel will join his former India teammate Ashish Nehra in the support staff with the latter being the head coach of the team. Parthiv featured in 139 IPL matches during his playing career playing for six teams.

Parthiv Patel, represented India in ODI and Test cricket for India while also applying his trade with several IPL franchises including Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. He will work closely with former India speedster Ashish Nehra who is also the head coach of the 2022 IPL winners.
