The final holdouts of a group of monkeys that escaped from a research facility in South Carolina over two months ago have been safely recaptured, the Yemassee Police Department announced on Friday.

In early November, the monkeys escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Facility after a caretaker didn’t secure the doors, police said.

The last of 43 escaped monkeys has returned to the Alpha Genesis research lab in Yemassee, S.C., nearly three months after an attendant accidentally left two doors unsecured.

Finally, all 43 of the rhesus macaques have been found, according to the primate research facility in Yemassee, S.C., from which they fled in November.
