Rockdale County has instituted a nightly shelter-in-place order, urging residents to stay indoors between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for the remainder of the week.
Residents of Rockdale County demand answers after BioLab chemical fire
ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Thousands of residents of Rockdale County are demanding answers days after a fire at the BioLab plant in Conyers. Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was near the plant Tuesday night and he said just being outside smelled like he was standing in a giant indoor pool with the potent smell of chlorine in the air.
BioLab fire: Rockdale County nightly shelter-in-place order through Friday
A plume of smoke continues to rise from chemical reactions in the burned sections of the plant, but the fire itself was extinguished on Sunday. The current plume is significantly smaller than the one seen over the weekend, which cast a shadow over much of the community.

Rockdale County residents Fannie and Albert Tart are filing individually and on behalf of other victims for real property-related damages caused by the chlorine-filled plume of smoke from the chemical fire.
