A large, slowly-spinning system across the northern Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico could develop into something serious, forecasters said.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon remain out in the middle of the Atlantic on Friday.According to the National Hurricane Center, "significant development of this system is not expected while it meanders over the central subtropical Atlantic during the next couple of days.
