Parts of the UK could see one of the hottest June days ever today. Temperatures of 34C are possible in central and eastern parts of England according to the Met Office - the hottest June day on record was recorded at 35.6C in 1976.

Wildfires continue to rage in Izmir, Turkey, forcing the evacuation of 50,000 people as strong winds fuel the flames. Passengers captured dramatic footage of the fires from the skies while Izmir’s airport suspended flights.
