Walmart has trimmed the price of its annual Thanksgiving meal deal to less than $4 per person, down from less than $7 per person in 2024.

Walmart is bringing back its popular Thanksgiving Meal Basket for 2025, promising families an easier and more affordable way to enjoy the holiday.

Walmart has already confirmed that it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day in 2025. This sentiment of closure is widely shared across the retail sector, with Target, Best Buy, and Kohl's all expected to follow suit,

The Walmart Thanksgiving meal basket costs less than $4 per person and feeds 10 people. That’s a 25% discount from the basket the company offered last year, Furner said, and the Butterball turkey is its lowest price since 2019. That’s a pretty good deal considering USDA data shows overall turkey prices are up more than 33% since 2019.

In a press release about the holiday meal baskets, John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart in the U.S., said, “We know every dollar and minute counts—which is why we are offering a low priced, one-click Thanksgiving Meal Basket featuring iconic brands like Butterball and Stove Top alongside trusted Walmart private brand items.”
