The Avalanche lost 2-1 in overtime to the Dallas Stars in Game Three of the First Round at Ball Arena on Wednesday. Valeri Nichushkin scored for Colorado while Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced.

Colin Blackwell gathered his own rebound and found the back of the net for the overtime winner to even the Western Conference first round series 1-1.

The Stars still dominated the period from there — out-attempting the Avs 20-9 and out-chancing them 7-4 at five-on-five — but MacKenzie Blackwood stopped all 13 shots he faced to send Colorado into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
