Today, BMW announced that it will start selling vehicles with hydrogen fuel cell powertrains in 2028 alongside the battery electric, gasoline-, and diesel-powered cars and SUVs it sells today.
The catch is there won’t be a dedicated hydrogen fuel cell EV (FCEV), but a hydrogen drive system as an available option starting in 2028. It’ll be offered alongside BMW’s existing portfolio.
