Sharks starting goalie Yaroslav Askarov has been one of the NHL’s best goalies this month, but didn’t have much support as he allowed four goals on 19 shots, with the fourth coming by Avalanche defenseman Josh Manson at even strength at the 4:51 mark of the second period.
The Colorado Avalanche (16-1-5) and Nathan MacKinnon (17 goals and 20 assists) host the San Jose Sharks (11-9-3) and Macklin Celebrini (14 goals and 20 assists) at Ball Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 9 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN+. Colorado won 1-0 on the road its last time out on Nov. 23 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Funnily enough, the Avalanche’s last loss was against the Sharks way back on 1. Flash forward almost a month, and Colorado has now won nine straight games after that OT loss, and tonight they look to win their tenth straight.

The Sharks traded Blackwood, forward Givani Smith, and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Avalanche last December for goalie Alexandar Georgiev, winger Nikolai Kovalenko, a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick, and a second-rounder in 2026.
