The new Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon comedy "You’re Cordially Invited" is new on streaming. How are critics reacting to it?

"Hats off to the writer-director Nicholas Stoller", who has taken an exhausted genre (the wedding comedy) and somehow brought it to "vivid, frequently side-splitting life", said Kevin Maher in The Times.

This Prime Video rom-com is much funnier when its leads are flirting with disaster than it is when they're flirting with each other.

“You’re Cordially Invited” comes out on Thursday, January 30. The movie will be streaming on Prime Video beginning at 3:00 a.m. ET on the 30th. Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon are ready to play, and “You’re Cordially Invited” has its moments, which is enough, probably, for home viewers in a five-or-six-laughs-will-do frame of mind. The comedy, written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, premieres Jan. 30 directly to Prime Video.
