Prime Minister François Bayrou broke a blockade of opposition parties that had brought down the government of his predecessor by doling out a series of concessions.

The head of France’s far-right National Rally party said Tuesday he doesn’t support a no-confidence motion filed against the government, making it more likely that the prime minister will remain in office and a 2025 budget will be adopted.

French far-right leader Jordan Bardella said on Tuesday that the French people would suffer most from more uncertainty over the budget, suggesting his party would likely not back no-confidence motions against Francois Bayrou's minority government.
