The first significant snowfall of the season hit the Delaware Valley Monday and blanketed the region from Bucks County to southern Delaware.Several schools have opted to close or open two hours late on Tuesday due to the lingering impacts of the storm.

Snow began falling early Monday morning across Philadelphia, its suburbs, as well as New Jersey and Delaware. Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs are expected to get 3 to 5 inches of snow, while Southern New Jersey and parts of Delaware could see closer to 8 inches,
