Nintendo’s latest earnings report is out and sales of the Switch console have plummeted after the Switch 2 rumors and announcement, exactly as you’d expect. Switch sales are now projected to hit 11.0 million for the year ending March, down from 12.5 million units forecasted.

The president of Nintendo says Switch sales will continue as long as there’s demand, but dwindling sales suggests that won't be for long.

“Nintendo Switch unit sales declined year-on-year, but even in the eighth year since its launch in March 2017, Nintendo Switch continues to attract the interest of consumers, and sales in some weeks during the holiday season exceeded same-week sales of the previous year,” Nintendo said.
