Some 3.5 million units sold in four days is fantastic but doesn’t override the “Mario Kart World” price or ROG Xbox Ally gamble.

Sales for the latest hardware release by Japanese games giant Nintendo have surpassed expectations, despite the hefty price tag Nintendo said Wednesday it had sold a record 3.5 million Switch 2 units worldwide in the first four days after the console was launched.

Nintendo has said it expects to sell 15 million Switch 2 consoles for the fiscal year through March 2026. The 3.5 million sold in the first four days includes the Nintendo Switch 2’s Mario Kart World Bundle, as well as the Switch 2’s Japanese-language and multi-language systems sold in Japan.
