Harvey Weinstein is currently serving time at Rikers after being convicted of sexual assault in a case in Los Angeles. Since, many of his other cases have been dismissed or not tried yet, Weinstein has been threatening to perish in jail before his April trial.

Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein begged a Manhattan judge Wednesday to expedite his rape and sexual assault retrial so he can get off Rikers Island alive, telling the jurist he was “gasping for air” at the troubled jail complex.

A gaunt-looking Harvey Weinstein pleaded with the judge in his upcoming criminal retrial to move the start date forward, even by a week, because “I don’t know how much longer I can hold on” while the fallen mogul remains imprisoned in New York City’s notorious Rikers Island jail.
