An arrest warrant was issued for the woman after coroner's investigators concluded the boy died from an overdose of fentanyl and xylazine, officials said.

Ryan Dwayne Turner Jr faces murder, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, and grand-theft auto felony charges.

Investigators said 32-year-old Christina Alvarez possessed and stored fentanyl in a manner that led to the death of her son, 10-year-old Nathaniel Castro Mendoza, last December.
