A Valley Stream man was fatally shot in Jamaica, Queens on Friday. Police say at 2:21 p.m. they responded to a 911 call for a male shot at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Sayres Avenue. They found 49-year-old Richard Carter, of Valley Steam, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

The victim was struck multiple times in the chest at Merrick Blvd. and Sayres Ave. near Archie Spigner Park in South Jamaica around 2:21 p.m., according to police.
