The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to an injury crash on Wednesday morning, Nov. 13, on TN State Highway 385 West.According to THP's preliminary report, three patrol cars were parked in the left lane on the highway with their emergency lights on during a crash investigation.

A driver has died after going around a barricade and driving off the edge of a hurricane-damaged North Carolina highway that became a symbol of Hurricane Helene’s destruction. Photos of Interstate 40 with multiple lanes washed out by Helene near the Tennessee state line drew widespread attention after the storm as the region was largely cut off by numerous road closures.

A 63-year-old woman, Patricia Mahoney of Southern Pines, North Carolina, died after driving around a barricade and off a hurricane-damaged stretch of Interstate 40 that had been severely eroded by Hurricane Helene.
