A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for a swath of Central Texas, including Travis and Williamson counties, with the possibility of tornadoes, hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The service predicts the main risks to residents is large to very large hail and damaging wind gusts.

This will be mainly a hail and wind situation, but we can't rule out a low tornado threat as well.

Hail at least an inch in diameter and damaging winds are the primary threats. The severe thunderstorm watch will stay in effect until 8 p.m. Friday.
