NEW YORK -- NEW YORK (AP) — New York City Mayor Eric Adams will endorse Andrew Cuomo in the city’s mayoral election, a spokesperson said Thursday, throwing his weight behind a bitter rival he recently called a “snake and a liar” as the former governor tries to defeat Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.
“I’d go half-and-half,” Cuomo said, trying to appeal to both sides. Laughter erupted inside the room as Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa, the republican nominee in the debate, both threw their hands up.
Andrew Cuomo's NYC mayoral campaign walked back an AI-generated ad that depicted rival Zohran Mamdani's supporters committing crimes Wednesday.
New York City residents took to the polls Saturday for the first day of early voting in the mayoral race. Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani leads the polls after current Mayor Eric Adams gave his formal endorsement for independent candidate and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
