Franklin County High School was under a shelter in place on April 1 after a gun was found on the campus led to a heavy police presence.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Public Schools, and the Rocky Mount Police Department are assessing an incident that occurred this morning at Franklin County High School.

A student was taken into custody after an incident, on Tuesday morning, at Franklin County High School, officials said. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office worked with Franklin County Public Schools and the Rocky Mount Police Department.
