Frost star Taylor Heise returned to the lineup after a game away sick and rookie goaltender Lucy Morgan was called upon on a 10-day contract signed Thursday to make her first PWHL start. She did so Saturday afternoon before 6,414 spectators at Xcel Energy Center after starting goalie Nicole Hensley was injured in pregame warmups.

Jessie Eldridge scored the fastest goal in franchise history and Alex Carpenter added to her league-leading scoring totals as the New York Sirens shut out the short-handed Minnesota Frost 5-0.

Injured during warmups, Hensley was unable to play, forcing Morgan — a former Gopher — into the starting lineup just days after being elevated from the Frost’s reserve list.

Jessie Eldridge scored a goal and added two assists as the New York Sirens skated to a dominant 5-0 win over the league-leading Minnesota Frost Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.

Notable: Thursday’s victory moved the Frost past Montreal into first place in the six-team PWHL. Britta Curl-Salemme scored a breakaway goal in overtime’s three-on-three play with just 13 seconds remaining. … The Frost and Sirens last played Dec. 22, when the Frost won 4-3 on a Sunday afternoon shootout at New York.

The New York Sirens shutout the Minnesota Frost 5-0 riding a 26 save performance from Corinne Schroeder and a three-point night from Jessie Eldridge.
