Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ends fact-checking on Facebook and Instagram in favor of community notes, calling the recent election “a cultural tipping point.”

In an apparent overture to the incoming Trump administration, Meta announced sweeping changes to its content moderation, including no more fact-checkers and a move to Texas.

Meta is abandoning the use of third party fact-checking on Facebook and Instagram in the US and will replace it with X-style "community notes", where commenting on the accuracy of posts is left to users.
