Peanut the Squirrel, a beloved pet who was an internet sensation before being euthanized by New York officials was earmarked to be killed a week before officials say it bit a person during a raid.

Mark Longo, owner of Peanut the Squirrel, shares his frustrations with New York government agencies for seizing and euthanizing his pet.

On Oct. 30 both Peanut and Fred were confiscated by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, and later both animals were euthanized in order to be tested for rabies. Both animals tested negative for the disease.
