Women's basketball has shot up in popularity over the last few years thanks to the ubiquity of WNBA superstars like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Cameron Brink — and a new league wants to continue capitalizing on this success. Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 women's basketball league, began play on Jan. 17 and is hoping to provide another option for fans.
The six-team league will consist of 36 of the top women’s basketball players from the WNBA, but won’t include Ms. Clark, who reportedly turned down a $1 million offer in choosing to enjoy the rest of her offseason. Despite the absence of the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year, there should be enough star power to attract some attention.
