The Gwadar airport, funded under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), was initiated in March 2019 during Imran Khan's tenure and inaugurated in October 2024 by Shahbaz Sharif.
The airport is Pakistan’s largest in terms of area as it spreads over 4,300 acres. Situated 26 kilometers from Gwadar city in Gorandani area, the airport features a single runway measuring 3,658 metres in length and 75 metres in width. The runway is designed to accommodate large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747.

He also commended Minister of Defence and Aviation Khawaja Asif, the Government of Balochistan, security officers, personnel, and military leadership for their tireless efforts in the construction of the airport.
