After scoring one goal in each of its losses, the Lightning return home to host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

In order to snap their season-long four-game losing streak, the Lightning needed to navigate through a tight-checking, closely contested game against a quality opponent. They did it, thanks to strong defensive work in all three periods and a dazzling play made in the third period’s final minute.

While Point’s last-minute goal is what everyone will remember, the Lightning won the game in front of the net in other ways. Their first two goals were scored on rebounds of shots flung on net by Darren Raddysh, who became the quickest Lightning defenseman to 50 career points with two primary assists.

TAMPA – Brayden Point scored with 52 seconds remaining in the third period to lift the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Point took a centering pass from Nikita Kucherov along the right-side boards in the low slot and beat Hurricanes goalie Pyotr Kochetkov with a snap shot from close range.
