Police say Caleb McCray and two other men punched a Southern University fraternity pledge member in the chest several times while wearing boxing gloves before he had a seizure and died.
"It is with profound sorrow that we extend our condolences on the passing of Caleb Wilson. His loss is deeply felt, and our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who were touched by him."
Caleb McCray, 23, faces manslaughter and criminal hazing charges for allegedly repeatedly punching Wilson in the chest with boxing gloves during the Feb. 21 ritual, causing a fatal seizure, Baton Rouge Police said at a Friday press conference.
McCray was taken into custody by officers to face charges of criminal hazing and manslaughter following Wilson’s tragic death.
Baton Rouge Police say they are drawing up warrants to arrest two additional suspects in connection to the hazing death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson, 20.
