Cigna Group raised its annual forecast and posted first-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street expectations, offering reassurance to investors still rattled by UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s shock forecast cut.

Cigna Group on Friday reported a $1.3 billion profit for the first quarter of 2025, a sharp turnaround from a year-earlier loss, as the health insurer benefited from strong performance in its Evernorth division and began to step away from costly Medicare Advantage operations.

Cigna on Friday raised its full-year earnings forecast and beat estimates for quarterly profit, helped by strong performance in its pharmacy benefit management business and lower-than-expected medical costs in its insurance arm.
