Should the Montreal Canadiens try to acquire Dylan Cozens from the Buffalo Sabres? There's speculation about that and Casey Mittelstadt's future with the Colorado Avalanche.

Multiple sources have reported that the Calgary Flames are interested in acquiring Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens. TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported Tuesday that the Flames organization have been "enamoured" by Cozens all season and would like to add him for more depth in their top six forward group.

Cozens is in the second year of a seven-year, $49.7 million contract and has posted 10 goals and 16 assists in 53 games this season. His production has dipped since his breakout 2022-23 campaign when he recorded 31 goals and 68 points, but he remains a highly regarded center with a manageable $7.1 million yearly cap hit through 2030.

According to insider Kevin Weekes, four teams are quite invested in attempting to acquire Cozens, including three clubs in Canada. Weekes lists the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Detroit Red Wings as potential landing spots for Cozens if one of them can make the right offer.

Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri and defenseman Rasmus Andersson have occasionally surfaced in the NHL rumor mill this season. Speculation has dogged the 34-year-old Kadri since last summer while Andersson's eligibility for UFA status in 2026 had some observers pondering his future in the Stampede City.
